To provide immediate shelter, transitional housing, and comprehensive case management services that empower women, children, and families in the Dallas area to achieve stable, independent lives.

Our Story
Rise Above It All was founded in 2010 by a group of Dallas community advocates who noticed a critical gap in local services: families in crisis, especially women with children fleeing unsafe situations, had nowhere safe and supportive to turn.
What began as a small emergency shelter program in a rented community space has grown into a full-service nonprofit with transitional housing units, a dedicated case management team, and a network of partnerships across Dallas County.
Over the past 15 years, we have served hundreds of families. Each one has shaped how we work. We listen to our clients, learn from their experiences, and continuously improve our programs to better meet the real needs of our community.
Today, we remain committed to the same principles that founded this organization: treat every person with dignity, meet them where they are, and walk alongside them toward a better future.

Dr. Angela Reeves
Executive Director
Angela has led Rise Above It All since 2014. With a background in social work and community development, she has expanded our programs to serve three times as many families as when she joined.
Marcus Chen
Director of Case Management
Marcus oversees our team of case managers and ensures every client receives a thoughtful, personalized support plan. He has worked in the nonprofit housing sector for over 12 years.
Priya Nambiar
Outreach Coordinator
Priya builds relationships with Dallas community partners and coordinates outreach to families who may not know help is available. She speaks three languages and is passionate about removing barriers to service.
James Whitfield
Volunteer Coordinator
James manages our growing volunteer program, matching individuals and corporate groups with meaningful opportunities to support our mission. He joined after volunteering with us for two years.
